HOW TO SHIP YOUR GUITAR TO US

Here is general information about how to ship a guitar.

Fortunately, this information can be used to ship a guitar anywhere, so, if you’ve found this article because you want to know how to ship a guitar, you’re in luck.

1. Go to your local Guitar Center, and ask them for a MARTIN shipping box, because they tend to be the best. They often give them away, but may charge you a few dollars. These are much better than standard shipping boxes that you will get from UPS, Fex-Ex, ETC.

2. Take TONS of photos of the guitar, at very close ranges, take an over-all video of the ENTIRE guitar AND case/bag, etc. Take photos and video of the CONTENTS of the box. i.e. show how well you packed the instrument.

3. MAKE SURE that you have a receipt for the price of your guitar, and keep OUR invoice handy.

4. Use UPS, because our handy-dandy “trusted” Fed-Ex guys, OFTEN leave our packages all over the neighborhood, whereas, our UPS GUY IS ONE OF OUR CUSTOMERS!

5. INSURE IT for 100$ of the value of the instrument, PLUS our invoice, PLUS shipping price, PLUS price of the packaging PLUS $100 EXTRA dollars.

6. Send us TRACKING

WHAT IF IT WAS DAMAGED IN SHIPPING!?

In the VERY RARE case that something is damaged, you will have to provide all of these things to UPS to get the insurance to go through. DO NOT THROW THE BOX AWAY!!!!!!!!   IF YOU CAN NOT SHOW THEM A PHOTO OF THE BOX WITH THE ORIGINAL SHIPPING LABEL, YOU ARE SCREEEWWWEEEDDDDDDD.

If the instrument is damaged during return shipping, i will have photos and videos on our end, as well as the invoice. You will have to take photos of the damaged item, the box, the shipping label, and we will have to provide UPS with all of the information, and fight with them. Unfortunately, this can take hours and hours over days and days, therefore, we charge $100, but fortunately, you’ve ADDED that $100 to your insurance quote!

With that said, we have only had to fight for insurance ONCE in all of the time we’ve been in business. It’s not common.
